Questions before you choose
What do I need to start brewing filter coffee at home?
A dripper (V60 or Chemex), its paper filters, freshly roasted coffee ground for filter and just-boiled water that has rested for a few seconds. Scales help you repeat the recipe, but you don't need them to get started.
Can you grind the coffee for my coffee maker?
Yes. When you buy any coffee, you choose whether you want it as whole bean or ground for your method: filter, Chemex, moka pot, French press, espresso or automatic coffee machine.
What coffee-to-water ratio should I use?
For filter, a good starting point is 1:16, for example 15 g of coffee to 250 ml of water. In a moka pot, fill the basket without tamping the coffee. Our guides have the full recipe for each method.
